About Alex Jackson Pantomimes
I started Alex Jackson Pantomimes to make it easy for amateur theatre groups, schools and youth groups to have a funny, family-friendly and flexible pantomime script to make their production sparkle.
Finding the right panto script
As a professional pantomime director, I know how important picking the right script is.
The balance between traditional and modern, humour that makes children and adults of all ages laugh, and the flexibility to customise your script to your production budget and cast. It creates the foundations of every aspect of your production, and I’m passionate about writing scripts that help every part of your show shine.
You’re at the right place!
If you’re visiting my website, you’re either a:
- Director of a theatre group looking for a new script to perform.
- Committee member of a theatre group looking for a range of new scripts to consider.
- Teacher looking for a show for their students (or even fellow teachers) to perform.
- Youth theatre leader looking for a new script to produce.
- Newbie – someone who is thinking about putting on a pantomime and considering all their options with which to do so.
You’re here because you want your audience to enjoy your pantomime as much as your cast and crew have rehearsing it.
You want your audience to enjoy your panto so much that they’ll keep coming back year after year.
You also want your pantomime poster to catch the eye of potential ticket bookers and get them to book tickets to your show.
You’ve made it to the right website. There’s plenty here to explore. Thanks for choosing Alex Jackson Pantomimes.
Alex Jackson
Director, Writer and Graphic Designer
Alex grew up just outside of Exeter where he first caught the pantomime bug watching productions at the Exeter Northcott Theatre. He has been writing pantomimes for nearly a decade, and licenses dozens of scripts every year across the UK and internationally as far afield as Singapore, Australia, South Africa and New Zealand.
His scripts are a great success with audiences and producers alike due to the high level of customisation they allow for, their flexibility in staging fitting simple to spectacular, their universal humour and sense of adventure keeping all ages on the edge of their seat. They have won multiple NODA ‘best pantomime’ awards across the country, and Alex has many repeat bookings from groups following the success of their previous productions of his scripts.
Following a decade of acting, producing, directing and writing in amateur productions, Alex moved to London to pursue a professional career in theatre. Since then he has toured the UK with productions, and directed Snow White at Queen’s Theatre Barnstaple (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs), and most recently Beauty and the Beast at the Core Theatre Solihull (Beauty and the Beast). This year he will direct Dick Whittington at Exeter Northcott Theatre, and is excited to be working on a professional panto at his home venue.
Alex is also a founding trustee of the UK Pantomime Association, the organisers of The Pantomime Awards celebrating excellence across the professional sector with a star-studded annual awards event. This year they awarded Sir Ian McKellen with a special award for services to pantomime following his critically acclaimed production of Mother Goose which opened in London’s West End before touring until Easter. As well as The Pantomime Awards, the UKPA organises panel events and discussions about the future of pantomime, and promotes the education and championing of the art form across the UK and worldwide.
