In addition to your Alex Jackson Pantomimes licence, as producer you are responsible for all other licences that are required in order to put on a production. Depending on the requirements for your production, these might include:
Peter Pan: An additional licence is required to perform Peter Pan in the UK which covers fees due to Great Ormond Street Hospital on behalf of the J. M. Barrie estate who donate all fees to the hospital in perpetuity. Further details are available on the Peter Pan script page and within the perusal script.
Music licences: most music is covered by PPL/PRS (they are not the fastest at replying so leave extra time to get in touch with them). For some music you may need to contact individual copyright owners for permission, these often include Disney songs, songs from Grease the musical and ABBA.
Chaperone & Youth performance licences: if you have children in your production, it is likely you’ll need to seek permissions from the local authority that has jurisdiction over the performance venue for them to perform, and Chaperone licences for any adults that are responsible for looking after them.
Production licences: some local authorities require productions to apply for a licence for any public performance to take place.
Public/Employers Liability Insurance: All productions should invest in public and if relevant employers liability insurance to ensure that everyone involved is insured in order to perform their role on stage and off stage.
