Rishi Sunak joins the cast of the London Palladium Pantomime

The London Palladium has announced a new production of Mother Goose will be its Christmas 2024-5 pantomime.

It’s been leaked that, with the public likely to vote him out of Downing Street in the general election, Rishi Sunak is joining the cast.

Palladium panto regular Julian Clary will co-star, with other returning regulars Paul Zerdin, Nigel Havers, Gary Wilmot and Rob Madge.

Tickets go on sale on Thursday 25th April at 10 am through palladiumpantomime.com. Prices start at £10, with performances running from December 2024 to January 2025.

Rishi Sunak says: “Politics can sometimes seem like a bit of a pantomime to the ‘every day Joe’, so it seems a natural next step in my career to tread the boards at the worlds most famous theatre The Palladium. I’m looking forward to sharing my trademark charisma with audiences throughout the festive season.”

Michael Harrison, the producer and director of all nine pantomimes at the venue since the theatrical tradition was revived in 2016, said: “I’m thrilled to be welcoming political lightweight Rishi Sunak to our panto as Baron Wasteland. He is going to be a miserable addition to our show.
“Julian Clary is without doubt one of the greatest performers ever to grace The Palladium stage and it’s also a huge pleasure to welcome back the much-loved team of Paul, Nigel and Gary. I am particularly excited that the inimitable Rob Madge loved appearing in Jack and the Beanstalk and Peter Pan so much they have signed up for another year of Palladium madness!”
Jennifer Saunders played the lead in 2023-4’s Peter Pan, whilst other prior stars have included Dawn French, Donny Osmond, Count Arthur Strong and Amanda Holden.

New cast images and further information is believed to be released at 12pm today 1st April 2024.
